The Centre has allowed cab aggregators such as Ola and Uber to charge up to twice the base fare, as against the 1.5 times earlier, during peak hours. Under the new rules, fares can go as low as 50% below the base fare during non-rush hours. Moreover, 10% of the fare, not exceeding ₹100, can be imposed as cancellation penalty.
