Centre has assured Belgian authorities that fugitive jeweller Mehul Choksi, involved in ₹25,000-crore PNB fraud, will be provided humane jail stay if he's extradited to India. Government has pledged to house Choksi in a well-lit, ventilated cell in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail, and assured out-of-cell time allowance for exercise/recreation. The extradition hearing will start by September second week.
