The government has directed Air India to end the culture of backseat driving in key departments related to flight safety, the Times of India reported. The Civil Aviation Ministry asked Tata Sons and Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran to empower officials heading core departments to make final decisions, rather than just hold responsibility when issues arise, the report added.
