Central government has notified elevation of Patna HC Chief Justice Vipul M Pancholi and Bombay HC Chief Justice Alok Aradhe to the Supreme Court. This comes after sitting Supreme Court Justice BV Nagarathna recorded a strong dissent note on SC Collegium's recommendation of Pancholi. Nagarathna reportedly warned his elevation would be "counter-productive" to administration of justice.
