Union government on Wednesday announced a 6.59% hike in minimum support price (MSP) for wheat, raising it to ₹2,585 per quintal for the 2026-27 marketing year, up from ₹2,425 last year. Additionally, the MSP for six rabi crops, including safflower, lentil, gram, barley, and rapeseed-mustard, was also increased. Barley’s MSP was raised to ₹2,150 per quintal from ₹1,980.
