Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), burdened with ₹2.52 lakh crore order book, is set for its biggest overhaul since 1964. Ministry of Defence has hired Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to restructure HAL by March 2026 to speed up deliveries, improve competitiveness, and prepare for private-sector rivalry. The revamp may include platform-based verticals, greater outsourcing and new profit centres.
