Ministry of Minority Affairs launched the digital UMEED portal (Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency & Development Act, 1995) for "better administration and management of Waqf properties". The portal would create a digital inventory with geo-tagging of all Waqf properties, said Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, adding that it will ensure effective and fair utilisation of Waqf assets.
