Centre may extend the April 2026 deadline for renewable energy firms to set up solar photovoltaic (PV) modules under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, reports stated. The delay comes due to visa issues for Chinese technicians, supply chain disruptions and slow technology transfer. The scheme aims to build an ecosystem for home-grown high-efficiency solar PV modules and reduce imports.
