Centre may lose ₹10,000-₹12,000 crore in revenue/year due to ban on real money gaming, a government official told Moneycontrol. Prior to ban, the revenue collection since October 2023 surged when 28% tax was imposed on all skill and chance-based games. "We've to forego that revenue...but...40% GST rate on online games...from September 22...may offset...revenue loss from the ban," official added.
