After a law student was allegedly gang-raped at a Kolkata college, Union Minister Chirag Paswan said, "I would urge central government...to impose President's rule in West Bengal." Chirag stated the situation in West Bengal is "horrifying" as leaders of ruling TMC are "involved in crimes like rape" in the state. A total of four people were arrested in the case.
