Government is planning to completely remove 12% GST slab but states have flagged socio-economic impact of removing the tax slab applicable on medicines and tractors, Moneycontrol reported. Potential revenue loss from removing these two items is estimated at ₹3,000-4,000 crore. While GST on medicines may drop to 5%, tractors may be tax-exempted as they can't be moved to 18% slab.
