The Centre is planning to impose a Minimum Import Price (MIP) on 10 key pharmaceutical raw materials to support domestic pharma industry and reduce dependency on China, a report stated. The critical components are mostly the ones used in antibiotics and cholesterol-lowering drugs. These raw materials are among the 41 identified under India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
