The central government is set to launch a portal, named 'UMEED', to facilitate the registration of Waqf properties on June 6, according to multiple reports. The name 'UMEED' stands for Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development. All Waqf properties must be registered on the portal within six months of its launch, the reports added.
