The Indian government is set to launch a ₹7,350 crore scheme to promote domestic production of sintered rare earth permanent magnets (REPMs), reducing dependence on Chinese imports. The plan will support five manufacturing units with incentives and a least-cost bidding system, targeting key sectors like automotive, defence, and electronics, with a total capacity of 6,000 tonnes.
