Congress leader Shama Mohamed criticised Centre's inaction on the flood situation in northeast due to heavy rains, saying, "They are totally ignoring the northeast." She added, "In 2016...the BJP said that they will make Assam flood free...this was repeated by Amit Shah in 2022, but nothing happened...no funds go there." She urged PM to use PM-CARES funds in rain-hit areas.
