A ₹2,000-crore project named 'Mission Mausam' has been unveiled by the government to enhance the country's weather and climate forecasting by 2026. Under the project, cutting-edge weather surveillance technologies will be developed and a wider network of radars, wind profilers, and radiometers will be installed. Artificial intelligence will also be used to improve the forecasts.
