National Film Awards jury member Pradeep Nair revealed that Prithviraj Sukumaran's 'The Goat Life' was in contention for awards but missed out during final discussions. Nair said Jury Chairperson Ashutosh Gowariker had "serious concerns about the film's adaptation and execution". "Gowariker and others also felt the adaptation lacked naturality and the performances didn't feel authentic," he added.
