Greece has introduced a cruise passenger tax, implemented from July 1, to tackle the growing issue of overtourism, especially at popular islands like Mykonos and Santorini. Cruise ships docking at these islands will now have to pay 20 euros per passenger. Cruise ships to other smaller islands in Greece will have to pay 5 euros as a cruise tax.
