Union MoS for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh said the choice for the Axiom-4 mission had to be made among the four Air Force officers already undergoing training for India's Gaganyaan mission. He said Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who was earlier a Wing Commander and the youngest of the four, was selected, with Group Captain Prasanth Nair kept on standby.
