A team of GST officials visited the Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan to monitor tax compliance on horse sales, NDTV reported. For the first time, 5% GST was applied to horses sold above ₹40 lakh. Officials claimed no horse crossed this threshold; reports suggested some horses were sold for crores. GST didn't apply to sales of other animals, an official said.
