Gujarat's cotton sector has grown remarkably under PM Narendra Modi's leadership as the then-CM of Gujarat, says state Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel. Cotton cultivation rose from 17.49 to 23.71 lakh hectares, production from 17 to 71 lakh bales, productivity from 165 to 512 kg/ha. Gujarat now contributes 25% of India's cotton output and continues innovating with hybrid, Bt cotton varieties.
