The Gambhira bridge in Gujarat's Vadodara, a portion of which collapsed during peak traffic hours on Wednesday, was 40 years old, NDTV reported. At least nine people lost their lives in the incident, as multiple vehicles fell into Mahisagar River. The bridge was in a dilapidated condition, according to locals, who added that their requests for its repair went unheard.
