On the 1993 Mumbai blasts, advocate Ujjwal Nikam, who has been nominated to Rajya Sabha, said that before the March 12 blasts, a van full of weapons arrived at actor Sanjay Dutt's house. "Abu Salem had brought it [the van]. Sanjay kept one AK-47...Had he informed the police at the time, the Mumbai blasts would never have happened," Nikam added.
