HAL and the Defence Ministry have signed a deal worth ₹62,370 crore (excluding tax). Under the deal, HAL will procure 97 Tejas Mk1A jets, including 68 fighters and 29 twin-seaters, and the associated equipment for the Indian Air Force (IAF). The delivery of the aircraft, which will have over 64% indigenous content, will begin during 2027-28.
