Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said fintech in India is an enabler of economic empowerment. India ranks third in the world for the number of fintech companies and does half of the world’s real-time digital transactions, she said during Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai. "India has [digital transaction] adoption rates of 87% compared to the global average of 67%," she added.
