Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Hamas and its factions will have to surrender weapons to the Palestinian Authority. "Hamas will have no role in governing Gaza...We also condemn the killing and detention of civilians, including Hamas actions on October 7, 2023," he added. Abbas made the remarks via a video link as US denied him visa to attend UN summit.
