Haridwar’s Mansa Devi temple was closed for devotees on Sunday after at least six people died and several others were injured during a stampede at the temple. The police stated that the stampede was caused by the rumours of an electric shock on the stairs near the temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in the incident.
