Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said NDA works to empower leaders from backward communities. "Congress keeps discussing reservations, but for the first time since independence, we have a PM from a backward community," he said. "NDA made APJ Abdul Kalam President, Ramnath Kovind from the Dalit community the President and Droupadi Murmu from the tribal community the President," he added.
