Kerala High Court suspended toll collection on Edappally-Mannuthy stretch of NH 544 for four weeks and ruled that toll fees cannot be collected from the public if their access to the highway is hindered due to ill-maintained roads or due to traffic congestion. The court was hearing writ petitions challenging the toll collections alleging heavy traffic due to construction work.
