US President Donald Trump said New York mayor elect Zohran Mamdani is off to a bad start. He further called Mamdani a "communist" and said "Miami will be the refuge for those fleeing communist New York City." After winning the polls, Mamdani had said, "I am a Muslim and democratic socialist and I refuse to apologise for that."
