A woman who witnessed the Dublin assault said the Indian victim was "covered in blood" and visibly traumatised. She said the attackers used bladed knuckles and stole his belongings. The woman helped the victim with first aid and alerted emergency services. The eyewitness claimed the same gang had stabbed four other Indian men recently and criticised the media.
