The severe cyclonic storm Dana made landfall on the Odisha coast, causing heavy rains and strong winds in the state and neighbouring West Bengal. The India Meteorological Department said the storm is likely to move nearly west-northwestwards across north Odisha and weaken into a cyclonic storm by forenoon on Friday. In Odisha, nearly 5.84 lakh people have been evacuated.
