Sound artist Jeff Rice used a hydrophone to capture the sound of Pando, world's largest tree. The microphone, placed at the tree's base, recorded vibrations and sounds of leaves rustling, including sounds during thunderstorms, revealing the interconnectedness of Pando's root system, Rice stated. Pando is an enormous quaking aspen that grew 100 acres of forest originating entirely from single tree.
