A Duke University study has found higher caloric intake, not idleness, as the primary driver of global obesity. The researchers analysed thousands of measurements of daily energy expenditure, body fat percentage and BMI from adults aged 18 to 60 across six continents. "Diet and physical activity should be viewed as essential and complementary, rather than interchangeable," the study stated.
