The Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) for Boys in Nurpur, was abandoned after the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) prohibited construction within 100 metres of the historic fort under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 2010. The Education Department couldn’t repair or expand the building, causing it to deteriorate over time until it turned into rubble.
