Union Minister Amit Shah said Hindi cannot be the enemy of any Indian language and Hindi along with other Indian languages can play a role in enhancing India's self-esteem. "Until a person takes pride in his language...we cannot be free from the mentality of slavery," he added. Shah said it is important to keep Indian languages alive and enrich them.
