A three-member panel formed after Sambhal violence has submitted a 450-page report to UP CM Yogi Adityanath. The report has stated that since Independence, the Hindu population decreased in the region from 45% to 15-20% while the Muslim population rose from 55% to 80-85%, media stated. Sambhal saw violent rioting over a court-mandated survey at the Shahi Jama Masjid.
