Union Home Ministry has allowed members of minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who entered India till December 31, 2024, to stay without passport. "Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians, who were compelled to seek shelter…due to religious persecution…and entered…without valid documents will be exempted from passport and visa rules," it said.
