In Jhansi, police suspect honour killing in the brutal murders of 18-year-old Putti and her 19-year-old lover, Vishal Ahirwar. Vishal was killed on August 7, allegedly by Putti’s brother Arvind and his friend. Two days later, Putti was strangled and her head shaved. Both accused have been arrested. The killings have triggered outrage across the region.
