Hotel rooms with tariffs up to ₹7,500 per night will become cheaper by up to ₹525 as they will attract a lower GST rate of 5%, without input tax credit (ITC). Earlier, hotel rooms with daily tariff of up to ₹7,500 attracted 12% GST with ITC. The new GST rates kicked in from Monday (September 22).
