If a 40-year-old person invests ₹1 lakh at an annual rate of 12%, the amount will only increase by about 10 times to reach around ₹10 lakh, Moneycontrol reported. However, if a 20-year-old invests the same amount, it can grow about 100 times to nearly ₹1 crore. For a 30-year-old, ₹1 lakh could grow to nearly ₹30 lakh.
