Bengaluru landlords are demanding security deposits as high as ₹23 lakh, a recently shared screenshot of a property ad showed, which is equivalent to 10 months' rent. According to real estate experts, Bengaluru's rental market is largely unregulated unlike Delhi and Mumbai where rental deposits are typically capped at 2–3 months’ rent. This structural imbalance favours landlords, they added.
