An Indore-based firm used fake bank guarantees worth ₹183.21 crore from PNB to win ₹974-crore contracts from Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Limited (MPJNL) in 2023, for which CBI has arrested two PNB officials. The firm allegedly used eight forged guarantees and fake confirmation emails crafted to appear like PNB sent them. Based on these emails, MPJNL awarded the projects.
