The SP and Congress responded to BJP leaders' remarks regarding a report, which, as per media, claimed the Hindu population in UP's Sambhal declined from 45% to 15–20%. "If the report is confidential, how did it leak?" Congress' Ajay Rai asked. "If BJP leaders' reactions are to be believed, it seems they themselves got it written," SP's Anand Bhadauria stated.
