Inside each eye are special cells called cones - red cones detect red light, green cones detect green, and blue cones detect blue. These cones work together to mix colours, which allows us to see millions of shades. Our eyes then send colour signals through optic nerves to the brain, which interprets the signals and creates the colours we see.
