Twitter co-Founder Jack Dorsey has launched a new messaging app called bitchat, which operates completely offline, without needing Wi-Fi/mobile data or SIM card. It builds a secure mesh network, with 300-metre range, using Bluetooth Low Energy. Every device on the network acts as a node, helping extend the range. Users constantly join and leave local Bluetooth clusters while moving.
