The International Space Station (ISS), where astronaut IAF Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is set to arrive tomorrow for the first time, orbits Earth at an average altitude of over 400 km. It travels at a speed of around 28,800 kmph. In 24 hours, the space station makes 16 orbits of Earth, travelling through 16 sunrises and sunsets.
