Britain, Canada, Australia and Portugal have formally recognised Palestine, becoming the first G7 nations to do so after nearly two years of war in Gaza. At least 145 of 193 UN members now recognise Palestinian statehood. France, Belgium and others are expected to follow suit at the UN, marking a major shift in global diplomacy.
