India paid $70 million (nearly ₹600 crore) for Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's seat on Axiom Space's mission, India Today reported. The company's private missions to International Space Station (ISS) last around two weeks, this fee covers the yearlong program to become a trained astronaut, CEO Tejpaul Bhatia told Business Insider. The mission is set to lift off on June 11.
