Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado was awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize on October 10 for her efforts to promote democracy and challenge authoritarianism in her country. According to information available on the official Nobel Peace Prize website, the 2025 award carries a cash prize of 11 million Swedish kronor (SEK).
